With a formidable presence in the film industry spanning over the last 25 years, Matt Norman has consistently achieved international acclaim for all films under the Wingman Pictures banner, recognized at festivals worldwide. Marking his initiation into filmmaking, Matt directed the internationally award-winning film "THE WRITER," featuring the renowned Australian actor Kim Gyngell. Gyngell's stellar portrayal of Jonathan in the film earned him the Best Actor award, contributing to the film's success.​

Matt wrote, directed and Produced the 2008 film “SALUTE”, distributed Worldwide through Paramount Pictures, Transmission and Warner Bros. The documentary also had a second theatrical release in Italy 2024. "Salute" The documentary achieved a pinnacle of recognition, earning a spot in the esteemed roster of the Top 9 Sports Documentaries of all time, as declared by Redbull in 2020. Its currently playing on Amazon Prime and continues to play on VOD and TV networks around the World.

In subsequent years, Matt Norman has remained dedicated to filmmaking endeavors centered on human rights and mental health issues.​​ Matt initially embarked on his professional acting journey by undergoing training at the National Theatre Drama School. Over the course of nearly 16 years, he made significant contributions to Australian television, theater, television commercials, and both short and feature-length films.​
In the early 2000s, Matt transitioned into filmmaking, marking his directorial debut with the short feature "All the King's Horses," featuring acclaimed actors John Flaus and John Brumpton.​ Subsequently, he further refined his skills with three consecutive short features: "The Writer," starring Kim Gyngell, Rob Carlton, Krista Vendy, Mel Butel, and John Flaus; "The Umbrella Men" (selected for Tropfest's Best of the Rest), featuring Damien Walshe-Howling and Benji McNair; and "Shank," starring Matt Norman and Rob Carlton.
Additionally, Matt served as the executive producer for the American film "The Third Man," collaborating with Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Matthew Heineman for ESPN Films.​​
